We offer ecological landscaping design services in Indianapolis and the surrounding area with a focus on creating a healthy ecosystem using native plants.
There are a few types of landscape designs you may want to consider:
Native Plant Landscapes
Native plant landscapes focus on using native plants to create a healthy, thriving ecosystem that feeds soil organisms, insects, birds, and all kinds of wildlife.
Foodscapes
Foodscapes, often called food forests, are landscapes designed to provide a bountiful variety of food for humans and wildlife all year long. In addition to planting many native plants, in a foodscape system you may want to add in non-native food plants such as apples, plums, peaches, pears, asian pears, apricots, blueberries, red or golden raspberries (in addition to native black raspberries), pecan trees, and more.
No Mow Yards
Many people now want to design yards that don’t require mowing, or only require mowing in small sections or areas where they actively use the lawn. This allows you to spend more time outside enjoying your yard instead of mowing and weed-whacking with noisy machines for many hours each year.
Butterfly Gardens
Butterfly gardens are filled with flowers and plants that provide habitat and food for many kinds of native butterflies and caterpillars including Monarch, Eastern Tiger Swallowtail, Common Buckeye, and Pearl Crescent.
Cut Flower Gardens
Cut flower gardens can be designed with native plants that you can cut and use for bouquets and floral arrangements while still providing lots of food and habitat for wildlife.
Herb and Medicinal Gardens
We can design herb gardens for culinary and medicinal herbs so you can walk out your doorstep and pick fresh herbs for cooking and tea right when you want to use them.
