Pasture-Raised and Organic Meat Farms in Indianapolis

I’m creating this list for myself, friends, and our community to make it easier to find, connect with, and buy meat from local farmers who are raising animals for meat in healthy, environmentally friendly ways.

Here are the principles I used for selecting farms to appear on the list:

• They raise animals on pasture where plants, soil, and the land is cared for in sustainable and restorative ways, creating healthier ecosystems, animals, and people
• They avoid the use of growth hormones completely, and limit use of antibiotics to cases where it’s absolutely necessary (antibiotics are not included in animal feed)
• They do not ever use herbicides, pesticides, insecticides, or fungicides on their land

Tyner Pond Farm

I’ve personally visited the farm with over 800 acres of land where their herd of (at the time) 350 cows get to graze from fresh pasture every single day. They have a rotational grazing system that keeps the cows moving to fresh pasture, ensuring they get fresh food and the land gets time to regenerate. This means they don’t have to ship in much or any hay to feed the cows.

Their pastures are certified organic.

Their beef is exceptional!

They also raise chickens and sell products from other farms.

Norman Mullet Farm

This Amish family provides vegetables and meat that taste amazing!

They offer certified organic vegetables, chickens, chicken, duck, and goose eggs, lamb, and goat meat. You can find them at the Broad Ripple Farmer’s market, the AMC Winter Market, and the Carmel Farmer’s Market.

Little By Little Farm
