There are so many amazing people working with permaculture principles in Indianapolis and the surrounding area throughout Indiana.
Here are some great communities and places to check out if you’re interested in learning more, connecting with other permaculture enthusiasts, or wanting to hire a permaculture consultant.
Indianapolis Permaculture Facebook Group
The Indianapolis Permaculture Group on Facebook is a great place to start. They host monthly meetups and events throughout the year.
Octavia’s Visionary Campus (OVC)
Octavia’s Visionary Campus is a farm that hosts educational and community events throughout the year. On the second and fourth saturday of each month from February – November, OVC hosts land stewardship days from 10am – 2pm where volunteers can come to help with projects on the farm from giving away free trees to the community to planting Potawatomi Mosqigwat Red Corn to harvesting vegetables for the community from the garden beds. Lunch is provided at these events.
OVC is a project funded by The KHEPHRW Institute.

Farrell Family Nursery
The Farrell Family Nursery is run by a family out of their home and they specialize in perennial plants starts and fruit and nut trees you won’t find most other places.
Brambleberry Permaculture Farm
Brambleberry Permaculture Farm is located two hours south of Indianapolis but it is an absolute gem! They sell all kinds of amazing perennials and fruit and nut trees and host tours.
Growing Places Indy
Growing Places Indy is an amazing farm located near downtown Indianapolis that grows an enormous amount of food using permaculture principles. They host workshops, programs for kids, tours, a community garden, a CSA program, and much more!
